SECOND GRADE LISTENING AND VIEWING STANDARDS

 SECOND GRADE ALGEBRA STANDARDS

  • describe techniques used in adding and subtracting numbers.
  • identify problem situations that match or do not match a given number sentence.
  • solve addition and subtraction problems using number lines.
  • solve addition and subtraction problems using data from simple charts, picture graphs, and number sentences.

SECOND GRADE MEASUREMENT STANDARDS

  • order events by time sequence; past, future, and equivalent periods of time.
  • select an appropriate standard or non-standard unit to measure various objects and substances.
  • predict whether the measure will be greater or smaller when a different unit is used.
  • use the appropriate tools and units of measure to solve problems.
  • use scales of length, weight, and volume within a measurement system.
